FacilitiesThe UNON compound is a quite unique place as all our facilities is located in a large 140-acre forest-fringed African garden. In addition to the varied vegetation and threes on the compound there is also a large population of birds and wildlife. Bring a pair of binoculars and take a walk down to the seasonal swamp to observe the local wildlife such as: red duikers, squirrels, marsh mongoose, velvet monkeys and olive baboons. Easily-spotted bird species include: Grey-crowned cranes, Egyptian geese, Crested eagles, Green pigeons and Hoopoes.

Other areas of interest is
The Gigiri Nature Trail and The Memorial Garden. Nature Trail managed by a group of local volunteers, the
Nature Trail showcases 600 indigenous tree species. A wildlife and
Flora checklist can be obtained upon request.
The Memorial Garden is a commemoration of the victims of the Nairobi bombing of the United
States Embassy, this garden of remembrance offers an area of peaceful
contemplation.
We hope you enjoy the visit to UNON.
